ipoque releases new Community Edition Version for Traffic Management
New release of the free of charge Community Edition on the customer portal portal.ipoque.com with immediate effect available
Leipzig, June 5, 2007 – The new release of the PRX-Community Edition for solving bandwidth problems is at the customers disposal on the customer portal portal.ipoque.com where one can download it for free. Furthermore ipoque GmbH announces that – due to the positive feedback since the customer portal started at the beginning of March 2007 – there will be available two new versions of the Community Edition from this summer. These versions can be used either as a 30 days test version with all functionalities or as a temporally unlimited version with limited functionalities but with an increased bandwidth.
The PRX-Traffic-Managers enable enterprises, universities, ISPs etc. to obtain a control of undesired applications such as filesharing, Instant Messaging and Voice over IP. Furthermore these applications can be adequately blocked or regularized. This also includes applications such as the popular Skype. „Due to the use of the PRX Manager there are 70% more bandwidth available and administrators get their networks under control again“, states Klaus Mochalski, CEO of ipoque GmbH. „Not only the discharge of the internet connection but also the legal aspect is a significant decision criterion for most of the enterprises because over 85% of the data is illegal.
With the free of charge allocation on the customer portal, ipoque makes its efficient and approved PRX-Traffic-Managers available for everyone who wants to preserve his network resources and to pass on output losses and increased communication costs. This solution can be seamlessly integrated in existing network infrastructures and is easy to install and to administer. Besides the software allocation, the customer portal – introduced in March 2007 – holds some further services such as Feature Requests and a Customer Forum for the exchange about the products ready.
The offer of two versions of the Community Edition from summer 2007 can be referred to the positive response and the high demand on the part of the customers worldwide. Therefore ipoque meets the target group´s requirements even stronger. For testing purposes a limited version for 30 days with all functionalities is available. Besides, there will be a temporally unlimited version with limited functionalities but with an increased bandwidth from originally 2 up to now 6 MBit/s. For this reason this version of the Community Edition is ideally applicable for instance for citizen networks. Furthermore there will be simultaneously for every PRX-release in the future a new release of the Community Edition on the customer portal.
